“If you tie your dream to applause, your dream has died before it even began.” Jon Acuff
We live in an age where positive affirmation is as easy as posting something to Facebook, Instagram or Youtube. The moment your post goes live, it can be liked, hearted, ‘thumbs uped’, etc.
The problem isn’t when you get likes, it’s when you don’t. I know many people, myself included, that will pull a post down for underperforming. You know, like when it’s been 10 minutes and you’ve only received half a dozen likes; or when only your mom liked your post. Chances are, you know what I’m talking about.
Remember that applause, recognition and positive affirmation, shouldn’t be the juice that drives you to create. And although it’s not wrong to let people with critical thinking abilities tell you you’re on the right path, you shouldn’t live for the applause of everyone because you will never have it.
